Description
ICT-IPS-DC12-BMMP – Hybrid DC Power System – 24Vdc or 48Vdc with 12Vdc Secondary Output
The ICT-IPS-DC12-BMMP Hybrid Power Series shelf is a compact 1RU positive-voltage DC power system that combines a 24Vdc or 48Vdc primary DC bus with an integrated 12Vdc, 700W isolated DC-DC converter output. Designed for space-constrained wireless and broadband sites, it accepts one or two hot-swappable 700W or 1500W power modules to deliver up to 3000W of primary DC power, while the secondary 12Vdc output feeds radios, routers, and auxiliary loads from the same chassis.
A factory-installed Intelligent Control Module (ICM) with OLED display and integrated Ethernet provides full TCP/IP-based monitoring and control via a secure web GUI or SNMP, allowing remote adjustment of output voltages, alarm thresholds, and battery parameters. The unit includes a Battery Management Module (BMMP) with a single 100A battery breaker and 150A Low Voltage Disconnect (LVD), delivering advanced battery management for lead-acid and lithium-ion systems, including state of charge, estimated run-time, discharge testing, and temperature-compensated charging for lead-acid banks.
This Hybrid Power Series platform offers a flexible, N+1 redundant DC solution for sites that require reliable 24Vdc or 48Vdc primary feeds alongside a high-current 12Vdc rail, all managed through a single, networked power shelf.
Note: Power modules and breakers are sold separately.
Features and Benefits
- Hybrid DC architecture combining 24Vdc or 48Vdc primary output with an isolated 12Vdc, 700W secondary output in a single 1RU chassis.
- Supports one or two hot-swappable 700W or 1500W power modules for up to 3000W total primary output with N+1 redundancy options.
- Integrated Intelligent Control Module with Ethernet, HTTPS web GUI, e-mail alerts and SNMP (v1, v2c, v3) for comprehensive remote monitoring and control.
- Advanced battery management with 150A LVD, 100A battery breaker, state of charge calculation, run-time estimation and programmable charge profiles.
- Designed for demanding communications environments with -30°C to +60°C operating range and high-efficiency conversion to minimise heat and energy loss.
- Four digital inputs plus alarm relay outputs allow site sensors and external alarms to be integrated into the same management platform.
Key Applications
- Critical wireless communications networks requiring both 24Vdc or 48Vdc infrastructure power and 12Vdc radio or router feeds.
- Fixed Wireless Access and Radio Access Network sites with mixed-voltage DC loads in limited rack space.
- FTTP/H and GPON access nodes needing reliable DC plant with integrated battery backup and remote visibility.
- Distributed antenna systems (DAS), small cells, and repeater sites where remote reset and alarm reporting are essential.
- Security, surveillance, and industrial control systems using a mix of 48Vdc transport equipment and 12Vdc edge devices.

Safety & Compliance
- Certified to North American and international safety standards including UL/CSA 60950-1 and UL/CSA 62368-1 (depending on installed power module rating).
- Meets key EMC emissions and immunity standards for telecommunications environments, including ICES-003, EN55032, EN61000-6-2 and EN61000-6-3.
- Designed for installation in restricted access locations with mandatory chassis earth bonding.
- Supports lithium-ion batteries only when equipped with an integrated BMS to ensure safe charging and fault protection.
- Isolated DC outputs minimise fault propagation and aid compliance with regional wiring rules.
- Surge protection is recommended for AC, DC and network lines to safeguard against lightning and ESD events.
