Description
CBI485A – 48V 5A 240W DIN Rail DC-UPS with Battery Care
The CBI485A is a compact 48V 5A DC-UPS providing 240W of reliable power for industrial automation, safety, and communication systems. It combines power supply, battery charger, and backup module in one DIN rail-mounted unit, delivering seamless power continuity with load priority operation. This design ensures that the load always receives power first, while the battery charging current can be redirected to the load during peaks, avoiding oversizing of the supply.
With Battery Care technology, the CBI485A supports IUoU multi-stage charging, constant voltage, and constant current modes. Automatic Boost and Float stages optimise charge cycles, prolong battery life, and allow recovery of flat or sulfated batteries. A real-time diagnostic system continuously monitors conditions such as reverse polarity, sulfated cells, or disconnection, with fault signalling provided via LEDs and relay alarms.
The CBI485A is compatible with Open Lead Acid, Sealed Lead Acid, Gel, Li-Ion, and Ni-Cd batteries. It offers full protection against short circuit, overload, overvoltage, overheating, and deep discharge. AUX 1 supports the optional RJTEMP temperature sensor or DPY353 display, while a dedicated connector is provided for the RTCONN Start from Battery cable. With its rugged IP20 housing and international safety approvals, the CBI485A is a cost-effective solution for automation, SCADA, and safety-critical power systems.
